VDMA

New building for the Mechanical Engineering Industry Association (VDMA),

Frankfurt am Main

The new building supplements the existing ensemble with a sustainable 7-storey building, which strengthens the campus character of the VDMA by its orientation and realizes the space requirements of the association.

The architectural figure of the cubes pushed into each other creates a corridor leading to Lyoner Straße, which intuitively leads visitors into the adjacent two-storey foyer. A generous staircase leads guests from here to the conference areas on the ground floor and first floor. The different heights of the two cubes create a differentiated structure with a roof terrace oriented towards the existing building. Furthermore, the buildings are connected by a glazed pergola and a green area.
