Karl Mayer residential neighbourhood
Development of a new living area,
Obertshausen
In the immediate vicinity of the S-Bahn stop, a largely car-free, green neighbourhood of short distances with a high quality of living, recreation and open space is to be created here. Around 115 residential units are planned as rental flats, as well as non-disruptive commercial, cultural and social uses that complement the residential area, in particular the municipal library and a 5-group daycare centre with around 95 places. In the quiet inner area, an open development with point blocks and predominantly residential use is planned as a ‘general residential area’. Along the street, a largely closed block development shields the interior of the neighbourhood from the S-Bahn line and the neighbouring commercial and industrial use.
