Almost exactly one year later, the topping-out ceremony for the new VDMA building in Frankfurt-Niederrad took place on 25.8.2020. Although there was no big celebration - COVID-19 also changed the general conditions at the construction site - the atmosphere among the attendees was good. The building has visibly taken shape and in the coming weeks the interior work will start. "500 windows have already been installed and soon the façade elements will be added, overall it is progressing well", said architect Thilo Mack (partner and managing partner of MOW Architekten). Holger Breiderhoff (Head of VDMA Internal Administration) is also satisfied, his thanks were directed at the many companies on the construction site: "A construction site of this size brings many companies together, therefore good cooperation counts. The VDMA would thus like to thank all those involved and we are delighted that the building is growing and taking shape with each passing day".
