At the suggestion of the Frankfurt Monument Authority, our project was selected to take part in the Open Monument Day 2024. On 8 September 2024, thousands of monuments once again opened their doors, this year under the motto ‘Wahr-Zeichen. Witnesses of History’, opened their doors and gave interested visitors an insight into their history. Two guided tours took place at Taunusanlage 20 together with the Monuments Office.
The baroque-classical building from 1898-1903 is listed as a cultural monument and is to be put to an appropriate use. The high-quality natural stone façade is clad with numerous sculptures and ornaments and will undergo an extensive and elaborate façade renovation in close consultation with the monument authority. The aim of the careful refurbishment is to restore the former appearance of the building. The existing roof structure will be dismantled and a new timber structure created. The filigree saddle-shaped glass roof above the light-flooded atrium will be refurbished in dialogue with the heritage office.
