Why travel far and wide? Our neighbouring city of Darmstadt, for some colleagues a place of study, for others virtually unknown. We changed that on this year's MOW summer excursion and went on a short architecture ‘tour’ in the Art Nouveau city, which has much more architecture to offer than just the Mathildenhöhe. The architect Prof. Ernst Neufert left his mark on the city with several buildings. The highlight of our tour was the listed Wasserbauhalle from 1956, which impressed us with its filigree column-free shell concrete structure. After a few more stops on our city walk, we rounded off the varied and fun-filled day with a team dinner.
